Event Details
In reviewing university retention and student wellbeing data related to FSL, SMU made the decision to shift the timing or recruitment/intake from deferred to early fall. Assessments before and after the shift tracked student perceptions regarding the change. Presenters will discuss how university leadership made the decision to move the timing or recruitment, what behavioral shifts occurred in student culture, what the assessment data revealed about the impact to the larger campus, and what changes we are making in year 3.
As a result of attending this program, attendees will…
- Leave with a tangible understanding of how Greek recruitment timing impacts the student culture and fall semester experiences.
- Review assessment data evaluating student perceptions related to deferred versus fall recruitment/intake processes, with specific focus on Panhellenic recruitment experiences.
- Engage in dialog related to how university leadership can utilize data and student feedback to better understand the impact in the timing of recruitment/intake processes on the student experience.
