Carnegie Mellon University Fraternity & Sorority Life program embodies shared leadership to empower chapter/council self-governance & stakeholder engagement. We will use CMU as a case study to explore how balancing relationships, restorative practices, & building consensus can foster change & innovation while honoring tradition & boosting engagement using the RASCI responsibility assignment matrix. Explore the utilization of RASCI gain strategies for implementation in your program.
As a result of attending this program, attendees will…
- Be able to evaluate structural and collaborative opportunities within Fraternity & Sorority Life through the RASCI matrix and appreciative inquiry that foster building consensus, community-wide engagement & problem-solving.
- Be able to apply the principles of shared leadership to their advising practice by balancing relational & positional influence, leveraging student leadership, & designing system structures & decision-making processes that reflect Gen Z leadership values.
- Learn to implement tools for building trust, accountability, & transparency within student leadership teams while prompting self-governance through restorative practices, collaborative conflict resolution methods, & techniques for supporting student-led leadership to avoid over-advising.
