Foundation Restricted Giving

The AFA Foundation supports and welcomes donors who choose to give to the AFA Foundation in more directed ways. The following giving pages allow donors to direct their gifts towards a series of restricted and endowed funds designed to provide targeted support to the Association.

NOTE: Those wishing to give to restricted and endowed funds are highly encouraged to do to through the directed giving pages below.

AFA Foundation Endowments

Chi Epsilon Educational Fund – The Chi Epsilon Educational Fund provides support for professional education designed to strengthen and expand our understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities within sororities and fraternities.

Michelle Guobadia Graduate Mentorship Endowment – Established in honor of longtime AFA volunteer Michelle Guobadia, the Guobadia Graduate Mentorship Endowment provides support for graduate student-specific professional education designed to best prepare graduate students for professional careers in the sorority/fraternity profession.

NALFO Unity Endowment – Established and funded in partnership with the National Association fro Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO). the NALFO Unity Endowment provides financial support for programs and/or initiatives that meet outcomes in line with the mission and vision of NALFO. With this endowment, AFA seeks to provide programs, services, and educational opportunities that educate fraternity/sorority advisors on how to empower Latinx fraternal organizations and understand Latinx student populations.

Past Presidents’ Talent Development Fund – Established and funded in cooperation with AFA’s past presidents, the Past Presidents’ Talent Development Fund was established (1) to provide the opportunity to build stronger professional development that directly addresses the skills needed to engage in the front-line work of sorority and fraternity advising, (2) to fund new programs and initiatives designed to directly contribute to the long-term success of campus-based sorority and fraternity advisors, and (3) to preserve the integrity and growth of the sorority and fraternity advising profession. 

Sigma Phi Epsilon & Friends Dr. Charles Eberly/Journal of Sorority & Fraternity Life Research & Practice Endowment – Funded by Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity & Friends and established in honor of longtime fraternity/sorority scholar Dr. Charles ‘Chuck’ Eberly, the Eberly/Journal Endowment provides for an annual award honorarium for the Association’s annual Eberly/Journal of Sorority & Fraternity Life Research & Practice Award, awarding excellence in sorority and fraternity focused research.

AFA Foundation Restricted Funds

DEI Initiative Fund – The AFA Foundation Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative Fund provides support for initiatives including programming, educational resources, and human talent designed to advance the Association’s core values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

AFA Foundation Annual Meeting Scholarship Funds

AFA Past Presidents’ Annual Meeting Scholarship – Established in honor of AFA’s Past Presidents, the Past Presidents’ Scholarship provides an annual scholarship for a professional/affiliate member to attend the AFA Annual Meeting.

Chi Epsilon Founders’ Scholarship – Established by Chi Epsilon founders, the Chi Epsilon Founders’ Scholarship provides multiple annual meeting scholarships for LGBTQIA+ identified professionals.

Doug Lange Scholarship – Established in honor of AFA Past President and long-time CAS Secretary, Doug Lange, the Doug Lange Scholarship provides an annual Annual Meeting scholarship for a professional/affiliate member who has worked to apply the CAS Standards and Guidelines into their professional work.

Dr. Ron Binder Graduate Scholarship – Established by AFA past President Dr. Ron Binder, the Dr. Ron Binder Graduate Scholarship provides an annual scholarship for a graduate member to attend the AFA Annual Meeting.

Monica L Miranda Scholarship – Established in honor of AFA’s first president of color, Monica L Miranda, the Monica L Miranda Scholarship provides an annual scholarship for a professional/affiliate member to attend the AFA Annual Meeting.

Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity Scholarship – Established by Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity Scholarship provides an annual scholarship for a campus-based professional member to atend the AFA Annual Meeting, with preference given to a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
