Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. commits $100,000 to readiness for FSL professionals serving NPHC communities

At the 2024 AFA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. showcased their commitment to the success of NPHC experiences by establishing the ‘Kappa Alpha Psi Endowment for NPHC Professional Development and Engagement’ with the AFA Foundation. This gift recognizes the importance of building capacity for FSL professional to better serve students in NPHC fraternities and sororities, and provides the needed resources to help our industry build those skills.

“Skilled, engaged FSL professionals serve a critical role in the successes of students of color on their campuses, and have a unique opportunity to remove barriers to growth of NPHC fraternities and sororities,” said Jason Bergeron, AFA’s executive director. “This gift puts a spotlight on the unique set of knowledge and skills needed to effectively understand, support, and amplify NPHC experiences on college campuses.”

Developed in partnership with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the new fund allows AFA and our collective industry to both enhance our current professional programming and provide new, original programming with the goal of expanding knowledge of and support for students in Black Greek Letter Organizations. This investment addresses AFA’s commitment to a stronger and further reaching professional development program, while focusing support towards professionals supporting BGLOs.

AFA and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. recognize the importance of engaging  fraternity/sorority professionals across all levels of experience, fraternal affiliations, and campus types in the active support of NPHC fraternities and sororities, and are excited to serve as leaders in the development of those professionals.
