Delta Zeta and Phi Gamma Delta partner to establish the ‘Innovation Fund for Advisor Education’ with the AFA Foundation

At the 2024 AFA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Delta Zeta Sorority and Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity announced a shared, interfraternal commitment to ‘Elevate the Standard’ by establishing the ‘Innovation Fund for Advisor Education’ with the AFA Foundation. This fund will be used to foster support and build professional development for local volunteers and chapter-level advisors.

“We are proud to invest in the future of Greek life through our continued partnership with the AFA and the Innovation Fund for Advisor Education initiative. By supporting the growth and development of local volunteer advisors, we know that we can amplify our collective impact to enable thriving fraternity and sorority communities of the future,” said Cindy Menges, chief executive officer for Delta Zeta. “Delta Zeta is dedicated to fostering continued lifelong educational opportunities and we’re honored to collaborate with our interfraternal partners to make these critical professional development opportunities possible.”

“Phi Gamma Delta aims to best position and equip our local volunteer advisors so that they may best support our undergraduate members and chapters,” said Rob Caudill, executive director for Phi Gamma Delta. “We are proud to join with with our interfraternal partners and support the AFA Innovation Fund for Advisor Education initiative in order to magnify our collective ability to build foundational development opportunities for these critical roles.”

AFA recognizes that local volunteers are shouldering an increasing amount of the labor of supporting fraternity & sorority experiences, and chapter-level advisors are advising and coaching undergraduates through increasingly more complex leadership needs. The ‘Innovation Fund for Advisor Education’ will enable AFA to better resource these volunteers by by building and reinforcing ‘on the ground’ support systems for the local advisors of undergraduate fraternities and sororities. These support systems will aid advisors and chapters as they navigate the increasingly more complicated waters of fraternity/sorority growth and support the cultural change needed to keep fraternity and sorority experiences thriving.
