Jeffrey Cufaude to endow AFA Perspectives Award with $25,000 Gift to ‘Elevate the Standard’

Jeffrey Cufaude

The AFA Foundation is excited to welcome Jeffrey Cufaude as a leadership level donor for the ‘Elevate the Standard’ Campaign with a $25,000 contribution to endow the AFA Perspectives Award. Effective 2026, this endowment will provide an honorarium to the recipients of AFA’s Perspectives Award, renamed “Perspectives Award, endowed by Jeffrey Cufaude” and awarded annually to an outstanding article published in Perspectives, the magazine of the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors. Perspectives continues to be the industry standard publication for advancing original thought and new ways of knowing in the fraternity/sorority profession, and the AFA Foundation is excited to provide this opportunity through Cufaude’s gift.

“As a young professional, I worked for two student affairs giants, Dr. Margaret Barr and Dr. Jon Dalton. They instilled in me the importance of contributing to the profession through publications and presentations,” said Cufaude. “Having several articles recognized with awards from the AFA and also the National Association for Campus Activities helped sustain my commitment to writing, something I have maintained throughout my career. I am thrilled to endow a financial prize for the AFA Perspectives Award. I hope it helps inspire others to share knowledge that advances the fraternity/sorority profession.”

Cufaude, a past editor for Perspectives, is a facilitator, workshop presenter, and keynote speaker, and the author of the Facilitate Better newsletter. He has previously served as the executive director and magazine editor for Delta Upsilon, separately as executive director and education coordinator for the North American Interfraternity Conference, and as a student affairs professional at both Northern Illinois University and Iowa State University.

“As editors of Perspectives, we are grateful to Jeffrey Cufaude for establishing the Perspectives Award Endowment,” said 2025 Perspective co-editors Andrew Hohn and Aubrey Cala. “This award serves to recognize authors whose thought-provoking and practical ideas help advance the fraternal movement and the vision of AFA. With this endowment, we’re excited to be able to continue celebrating and honoring those contributions in meaningful ways for years to come.”

Perspectives is a quarterly magazine which provides a forum for research, ideas, and information related to fraternities and sororities that is thought-provoking and innovative, shares new information, highlights best practices, and challenges thought.
