Continuing Education (CE) Policies
AFA has created policies and processes to ensure Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd) are able to receive CE credits for their participation in CE-eligible programs. The CE policies for AFA programs are outlined below.
CE Credit Policies for AdvanceU and Legal & Legislative Update Programs
- Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd) should attend the live program or watch the program recording on AFA Learning. CSAEd are expected to engage in the full program in order to receive CE credit – no partial credit will be offered.
- CSAEd are expected to complete the post-program evaluation to receive CE credit. Typically, the program evaluation will be provided at the end of the program via link or QR code.
- Proof of program completion and CE credit will be provided to certificants by AFA staff. Certificants can expect to receive their CE certificate via email within 5-10 business days after submission of the program evaluation.
- In order to receive CE credit, Certificants should use their CE certificate to apply for credits in Prolydian. Click here for more information on how to submit your completed CE credits online.
CE Credit Policies for the AFA Annual Meeting
- Various educational sessions at the AFA Annual Meeting are eligible for CE credits. AFA will utilize the webpage and conference app to designate sessions that are eligible for CE credits.
- Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd) are expected to complete the session feedback form for each CE-eligible session they attend throughout the conference. Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd) are also strongly encouraged to utilize the provided CE tracking worksheet to keep track of their sessions and CE credit throughout the conference.
- At the end of the conference, an overall CE evaluation form will be shared with CSAEd to allow them to designate which CE credits they would like to receive for each session. Please note that while a session may be eligible for multiple CE credit categories, you may only select a single category towards which you would like to receive CE credit (you may not “double dip” and receive CE credit for multiple categories for one session). Click here to review the Certification Consortium’s CE credit policies.
- Upon completion of the overall CE evaluation form, AFA staff will verify session attendance and create a CE certificate, which can be used when CSAEd apply for CE credit. Certificants can expect to receive their CE certificate via email within 5-10 business days after submission of the overall CE evaluation form.
- In order to receive CE credit, Certificants should use their CE certificate to apply for credits in Prolydian. Click here for more information on how to submit your completed CE credits online.
CE Credit Policies for the Annual Meeting Reload
- Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd) should watch all Annual Meeting Reload sessions for which they would like to receive CE credit. CSAEd will have until February 1st of the following calendar year to watch the Annual Meeting Reload sessions and complete the steps below to receive CE credit.
- CSAEd are expected to complete the overall CE evaluation form to document their attendance and the category of CE credit they would like to receive. Typically, the program evaluation will be linked on the Annual Meeting Reload webpage.
NOTE: Certified Student Affairs Educators will be provided with one certificate for their participation in the Annual Meeting Reload. Please wait to complete the steps above until you have completed ALL Annual Meeting Reload sessions for which you would like to receive CE credit.
CE Credit Policies for Other AFA Programs
CE credit policies for other AFA programs will be shared on the program website and through marketing and communications. AFA CE processes typically require Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd) to complete a program evaluation (to verify attendance) and assist with the creation of a CE certificate.
