FSID

FSID

AFA uses FSCentral to provide access to member services, professional development, event registration, email communication, and single sign-on registration for other AFA platforms. To access FSCentral, members must create an FSID account and use it to log in to the portal. In order to ensure that you are always able to access your FSID, and through it access AFA’s member portal, it is strongly recommended to use a personal email, as opposed to a professional or work-assigned email, as your FSID login email.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is FSID?

FSID is the email used to log in to portals managed by re:members. FSCentral uses FSID as the login tool as do many other organization portals. FSID is the login email only, it is NOT the email in which you will receive communication from any organization unless you designate it as such.

How can I change my FSID?

  • Log into app.fsid.org and choose the profile tab.
  • Choose the profile tab on the left hand side.
  • Underneath the email, select Change Email.
  • Enter in the new email address.
  • Verification will be required on the new email address. An email from info@fsid.org will be sent and verification instructions should be followed.

If I change my FSID login email, will that change my email preferences?

The FSID login email is separate from the preferred email. Changing the FSID email will not change any communication preferences already set up.

To change email preferences, login in to portal.fscentral.org and select My Profile to edit any communication and email preferences.

What if I use FSID for a different organization I’m a part of?

Because the FSID is different from communication preferences, most people find it easiest to use one FSID for all organizations. Then in each organization a preferred email can be set to receive communication. For example, a personal email can be used as the FSID, for both work and volunteer roles. However in each portal the work and volunteer emails can be set as your preferred email. One login, but two different portals makes it easy!

It is not required to have the same FSID though for both organizations, you can have separate ones, but want to ensure you are logging in to each appropriately.

Why is a personal email recommended for the FSID?

When using a work or volunteer email as the FSID or login email, access becomes a challenge when access to that email is lost. Using a personal email allows access to the portal features even with a job or volunteer change. When leaving or starting a new role, instead of needing an entirely new account, the only needed change is to ensure the preferred email on the portal profile is set to an accurate new email. As a reminder, the FSID is for login only and the only communication sent there would be password resets or login verification.

What happens if I get a new role and no longer have access to my account?

If you can no longer access an old account when a job change occurs, please create a new account with a personal email address and set the preferred email as the new work email address. Then email gretchen.foran@fraternalexcellence.org to have your accounts merged to the new account.

I’ve reset my FSID, but have not received a verification email.

Please ensure that info@fsid.org is listed as a safe sender and check your spam. If you still have not received your verification email please submit a support ticket here
