AFA Membership Information
AFA has four categories of membership, which are described below. Please contact the AFA Central Office if you have questions about these categories.
Professional Members – $175
Professional members shall be those holding full-time professional, administrative positions either (1) at a college/university or (2) at an inter/national fraternity or sorority.
Affiliate Members – $175
Affiliate members shall be all other who are actively concerned with enhancement of the advisement of fraternities and sororities who are not employed by a college/university or inter/national fraternity or sorority.
Graduate Members – $100
Graduate members shall be those who are enrolled as part-time or full-time graduate students (masters or doctoral) but who are not employed in any full-time, professional position. Those graduate students who are employed in full-time roles must register as professional or affiliate members.
Emeritus Members – $100
Emeritus members shall be those who have been professional members of the association up to the time they have retired from the field of higher education or from an inter/national fraternity or sorority staff, but still are actively interested in fraternities and sororities. To be considered for this membership category, please contact the board of directors.

- The opportunity to help shape Association programming and professional development offerings by participating in one of our 150+ volunteer and micro-volunteer roles.Â
- The opportunity to contribute to the elevation of good practice in the fraternity/sorority industry by staying informed on developments in the field, participating in professional development offerings, and sharing your expertise.
Community Involvement and Recognition
- The opportunity to participate in AFA professional updates including AFA’s Presidential Town Hall and Update and AFA’s Legal & Legislative Updates.Â
- The ability to connect with peers and colleagues in one of AFA’s Community Collectives or Communities of Practice.
- The ability to join one of five (5) regional communities designed to connect AFA members in closer proximity.Â
- Exclusive access to periodic member-only listening sessions and roundtables on current events impacting the fraternity/sorority industry.
- Priority notification about the opening of the AFA Awards nomination process to celebrate professional accomplishments and elevate good practice in the industry.
Pricing Discounts
- A minimum of $200 in savings for registration to our Annual Meeting.Â
- Eligibility to receive AFA Foundation scholarship funds to cover the Annual Meeting registration fee.
- A minimum $400 in savings for access to other AFA professional development programs.
- A minimum $270 in savings on Student Affairs Certification exam fees (CORE and specialty exams)
- Eligibility to receive AFA Foundation scholarship funds to cover the cost of the FSL specialty exam fee ($485)

We’re excited you’re renewing your AFA membership; the process is quick and simple! For the 2025-2026 membership year, you can start your renewal on June 2, 2025. Returning members will be asked to log in to their FSCentral account, complete their AFA member registration, and complete their membership purchase transaction.
All questions about membership can be directed to the AFA Central Office.
Please note, you must join/renew and be fully paid by September 15 if you would like to take advantage of all member benefits for the 2025-2026 membership year, such as accessing member pricing on Annual Meeting registration and other programs & events, viewing content in AFA Learning, etc. If you select the “check/money order” or “bill me” option, we must receive the payment by September 15. Failure to pay membership dues by September 15th will result in account suspension and removal from formal communication and member benefit access.

AFA and ASCA Membership Bundle
Are you a sorority and fraternity professional with an interest in student conduct? AFA and ASCA, the Association for Student Conduct Administration, have partnered to offer the opportunity to purchase or renew both your AFA membership and your ASCA membership at a reduced package price. Interested individuals can learn more about ASCA here. AFA members interested in adding an ASCA Membership to their registration may do so at the point of purchase within FSCentral.

Keeping Up with AFA Member Benefits
AFA uses email communications to notify our membership of timely and important information. Be sure to mark “Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors” (info@afa1976.org) as an important sender in your inbox so you don’t miss the following emails!:

FSCentral is our membership portal and hub for accessing some of AFA’s member-exclusive benefits! Follow the steps below to access FSCentral:

- Review your Membership History
- Access the AFA Learning LMS for on-demand videos and modules

- View all active AFA Events by scrolling down and browsing through any event registrations that are live
Keeping up with AFA email communications and social media pages is a great way to know what programs and events are ongoing or coming up! You can also find any active or upcoming programs and events by reviewing the following:
- Check out our Events webpage.
- Log into FSCentral and scroll down to the “AFA Events” section to view all active event registrations.
- While in FSCentral, click the “AFA Submissions” tile to view any open program submissions.
AFA Learning is the Association’s LMS which hosts on-demand videos and modules to support your professional development. Follow the steps below to access and familiarize yourself with AFA Learning:
- Click the “LOG IN” button at the top right corner of this website or click here
- From the FSCentral homepage, click “AFA Home”
- Click the “AFA Learning” tile
- From the AFA Learning homepage, scroll down to the “Catalog” section to browse through all live content
- To filter the content you see, click “Select Category” at the top of the “Catalog” section to choose which subset of content you are interested in viewing
- If you select a category and see the message “No Programs Found,” this means that either 1) you are not currently enrolled in the cohort that can view this content or 2) content has not yet been uploaded. You may email info@afa1976.org with questions or concerns.
AFA has several communities within our membership.Â
Regions
- Upon populating your profile information in FSCentral and purchasing your AFA membership, you will be added to your region’s membership list to receive regional newsletters and updates.
- AFA’s regions are:
- Region I: Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Nova Scotia, Pennsylvania, Quebec, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and the United Kingdom
- Region II: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia
- Region III: Illinois, Indiana, Manitoba, Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario
- Region IV: Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin
