Created in 1985 and re-named for AFA’s second Executive Director, Sue Kraft Fussell, in 2006, the purpose of this award is to primarily (1) recognize individuals who have meaningfully contributed to the forward movement of AFA as members and volunteers, while also (2) recognizing individuals who have contributed broadly to the fraternity/sorority industry in ways that have strengthened the success of the fraternity/sorority profession, and (3) recognizing those who have made meaningful intellectual contributions to the fraternity/sorority industry. Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Awards will be presented to no more than five members of the Association each year. Strong candidates for this award have 10+ years of professional experience in the fraternity/sorority profession.
