Event Details

This session will provide an introductory level understanding of the donor giving cycle and higher education advancement. The presenters will share their own perspectives as seasoned development professionals to offer guidance and strategy for how fraternity and sorority life (FSL) staff can be best prepared, and proactively engage, with their university advancement teams.

As a result of attending this program, attendees will…

  • Identify common terms and practices used in higher education fundraising
  • Recall examples of practices or actionable steps FSL staff can take to start building their fundraising toolkit 
  • Examine successful donor funded initiatives focused on fraternity and sorority communities and chapter programs through case study examples

Continuing Education

Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd) may obtain CE credits for attending this program. This program is eligible for Core or Fraternity Sorority Life specialty (FSL) credit [1 credit].

AFA has been approved by the Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification to provide CE credit for Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd). Programs that qualify for CE credit in this program will be clearly identified. AFA is solely responsible for all aspects of this program.
